Drawn up around 1510, this copy of a Roman map does not pretend to be exact. The Peutinger chart was primarily a route map for the traveller, featuring distances, rivers, mountains, roads, and towns, which were represented by small houses, between Britain and India. All roads, within this enormous territory, did indeed lead to Rome.
